WARNING: European Libre 2 Users
| |
This is a warning for European Libre 2 users that get CGM data with xDrip4iOS or Shuggah: do not let Loop-dev, FreeAPS or FreeAPS-X run closed loop during warm up.
“It is recommended that you use Open Loop during warmup until the new sensor begins to provide reasonable data. This is especially important with European Libre 2 using direct bluetooth connection.”
The xDrip4iOS team is hard at work on updating the code, This is a good reminder to all loopers that CGM accuracy is critical.

Loop-dev Recommendation
As of Nov 2022, the Loop and Learn team recommend that new Loopers start with the development version of Loop (nickname is Loop-dev). Here are a few reasons for using Loop-dev. (These features are not available and not planned for FreeAPS): - Onboarding protocol with guardrails ensures all settings are entered
- Streamlined main screen display and settings screens provide improved user experience
- Better alerts and notifications assist the user
- Added Features are available:
- Fingerstick blood glucose prompts when data is stale
- Non-pump insulin entry within the app
- Manual Temp Basal feature that automatically restores to closed loop at end of selected duration
- Remote Carb/Bolus capability (requires Nightscout)
And of course, Loop-dev provides support for Omnipod Dash, as well as all of the pumps supported by Loop-Master. Dash communicates with the Loop app on your phone using BlueTooth, no link device is needed for Dash pods.
As always, new Loopers should start in Open Loop.
