Loop-Dev Build Parties: Recap
|
| During October, we hosted two Loop-Dev build parties. About 70 Loopers joined us to understand:
- Differences between Loop-Dev and Loop-Master,
- How to build Loop-Dev using the Dev Build Script and fix build errors
- How to customize Loop-Dev by adding the Custom Type One Patches.
The most common error that builders experienced was the package dependency error. It can be found on the Build Loop-Dev page and on the Build Errors page.
If you're an interested in Loop-Dev, then please take your time to read (and re-read) the Loop 3 section of LoopDocs.

Heroku's Free Tier Shuts Down on 28 November: What's Your Plan?
|
|
By now, you know that Heroku is shutting down its free tier on 28 November 2022.
Our recommendation has been to sit tight until 1 November to see what options become available. As Dr. Seuss would say, "the time has come, the time is now", so it's time for each of us to make a decision and implement it. Please do not wait until the last minute - your schedule isn't really going to be more flexible next week or the week after.
Your options are (in no particular order):
- Google Cloud
- Northflank
- Azure (free),
- Railway app (most likely free),
- Heroku Hobby account (around $7 per month),
- Migrate to another hosting service such as Digital Ocean (around $5 per month),
- Subscribe to T1Pal, or
- Subscribe to ns10.be
Both of the subscription services listed in #7 and #8 above support Remote Overrides for Loop-Master users. If Loop Dev's Remote Carbs and Remote Bolus features are important to you, please contact the service provider to confirm that it meets your needs before switching.
